Had a nice weekend. First was going out with my friend Karin to Lupa, a nice Italian restaurant in Noe Valley, then I finished watching the end of the Japanese anime film Steam Boy.

Saturday I went to the Legion of Honor to see the wearable art exhibit, which was quite nice. The end of the day was spent with Karin, Allan, Tri, and Mario at Chouchou for dinner (Tri is leaving for Ireland, then Vietnam for two months to give lectures, so it was a Bon Voyage party of sorts). We watched Bush's Brain on that day which was quite good.

On Sunday, after a bit of cleaning, we headed up to Twin Peaks (1114 steps by street, less than 1000 steps by stairwell) to watch the Blue Angels, which were in town for Fleet Week. Later in the day, went to the new de Young museum, which was opened for the very first day (members only day). Sort of a full circle event since I was at the museum the last day many years ago before they closed down to build the new museum. Over the last few months I thought it was a hideous building, but have come to the conclusion that the space is gorgeous and the design is adventurous and attractive. Finished the evening at Ebisu for a nice sushi dinner.
